Colonial part of the city would be most attractive for travelers, as main historical and architectural landmarks are concentrated here. Here is a beautiful mosque Masjid Jamek, the construction of which took place in the early 20th century. The prototype of this beautiful architectural structure is the Mongolian mosque located in northern India. No less interesting is Sultan Abdul Samad, the State Secretariat. It is a beautiful building with domes and high tower that is a prime example of Moorish architecture. Nearby is the Textile Museum; there you can see a fine collection, which will be interesting for everyone. In addition to original textile, museum's collection includes products from beads, hand embroidery and rosaries, as well as a lot of other beautiful handicrafts. An old English cathedral, St Mary's Church, is also situated in historic district. It had been founded in 1984, one hundred years later a large-scale reconstruction of the church had begun, and in 1989 part of the old building has been converted into a museum. It would be appreciated by numismatists as the museum is dedicated to old Malaysian money.
